NY Giants control destiny entering Sunday's pivotal matchup against Dallas Cowboys

he Giants are in the midst of what could be an "historical" collapse, to borrow a word used by Justin Tuck. They've lost four straight games to turn a 6-2 start into a 6-6 record and they've fallen into second place in the NFC East.

Now, on Sunday night in Dallas, they need to stop their downward spiral before their season is over -- and there's a chance it could be all-but over if they lose to the Cowboys. That loss would put the Giants two games behind Dallas with three to play, and the Cowboys would have the tie-breaker advantage. That means the Cowboys will have just about secured the NFC East.

If the Giants win, though, they will control their own destiny. They'll be in first place again and regained their lost momentum. They've played well in recent years against the Cowboys and Eli Manning is undefeated in his two trips to new Cowboys Stadium.
