How they really do it: Celebrities talk about juggling career and motherhood
Don't know how they do it? Here's how:
With "I Don't Know How She Does It" hitting theaters this weekend, plenty of working moms will be re-evaluating their lives—even if only for a couple of hours and in a dark theater.
The movie's star, Sarah Jessica Parker, talked with Anderson Cooper recently about how she does manage to do it all: With help.
“We have amazing babysitters that we are incredibly reliant upon and we are incredibly lucky to have," she said. "We like that they get to go home at night and this is what works for our family, and they get to be with their loved ones.” So what's her main Mommy role? "You are an air traffic controller," she tells Cooper. "That’s how you function."
Hollywood has plenty of women who took time off for motherhood (though it can be hard to define "time off" when a successful actress can easily afford to go a year or two between movies—or hire a nanny for each child, as Angelina Jolie did), but for many breadwinning working moms, famous or not, opting out of the workforce isn't an option. So how do the celebrities make it work? Here are how a few famous working moms did it.
